Don Carlson’s Consumer Education Message-
Hi! This is Don Carlson. Thanks very much for your interest. I am grateful for the opportunity to provide you with information about dry cleaning and help you choose a dry cleaning company.
I am the owner of Carlson Cleaners. I have been in the dry cleaning business for over 30 years. And in that time, I’ve learned that dry cleaning is the subject of much confusion. In fact, people have so many misconceptions about dry cleaning that I decided to offer this consumer education message so when you select a dry cleaning company, you can make an informed intelligent decision.
In just a moment, I will share with you 5 questions to ask before you take your garments to any dry cleaner.
Question #1: Do they have a production line?
You need to have a production line to be able to produce quality work. A production line is used to make sure garments that have been cleaned and pressed look great. Once the garment has passed inspection it gets sorted accordingly.
Question #2: Is their facility clean?
If it is not clean you can count on their chemicals being overused, dirty and smelly. When the chemicals are dirty and smelly your clothes will come out dirty and smelly. Never trust a dry cleaning facility that is dirty!
Question #3: How often should I Dry Clean my suits?
There is a myth that you should clean your pants and jacket together. This is so NOT true. You should only dry clean your pants and not your jacket all the time. Because when you dry clean your jacket all the time it gets out of shape, it should be professionally cleaned and pressed once or twice a year. If your dry cleaner is telling you otherwise, they are lying to make more money off you.
Question #4 Do they use perc?
Perc which is short for percloroethylene, is a very harsh chemical that many cleaners use as a dry cleaning solvent to clean your garments. It is bad on the environment and is banned in some states. If they use percloroethylene stay away!
Question #5 Do they offer a free pick up and delivery service?
You know what, your busy and you should not have to drive back and forth to the cleaner to pick up your cleaning. That is so 90’s! Most people put their dirty clothes in the car and they sit for days until you remember to drop them off…oh and hopefully they are open when you drive by. You can eliminate all of that by letting us pick up and deliver your dry cleaning.
By asking these questions you will have the knowledge to be able to make an informed, intelligent decision. I will be happy to take your call and answer any questions you may have. To reach me call, (941) 275-4647.
Thanks very much for listening. I hope you found my message helpful. If you have questions or comments – or you would like to schedule your first free home or office delivery service please call me at (941) 275-4647. If I do not answer I promise to return your call promptly.
